In attendance were members of the public as well as students representing Charleston High School, Charleston Middle School, and Warren E. Hearnes Elementary School.
The National Anthem was performed by Jayvon and Jayvion Biles, twin brothers and 5th grade students at Warren E. Hearnes Elementary School.
Superintendent Dr. Tammy Lupardus offered remarks and introduced guest speakers, including a representative from each of the agencies as well as Representative Smith.
Following an address from both legislators, Senator Blunt and Representative Smith were presented with Blue Jay gear by student athletes from Charleston High School football and boy's basketball teams. They were also presented with baseball gear by members of the regional Fighting Squirrels baseball team.
